The police were alerted at 3:22 p.m.

Police could not rule out that the object was harmless through an eye inspection; therefore, a large area around the von Lingen road was blocked, which also affected the center of Rosengård. Bomb technicians examined the object, which turned out to be harmless. At 5.30 p.m. the roadblocks were lifted.

The police were alerted by individuals at the scene.

– It’s a police patrol winked at by a person who says there is an object to look at, says Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesman for the police command center.

Subsequently, the police announced that a report entitled Illegal Threats had been drawn up. This despite the fact that the object, according to initial information, was not placed next to any vehicle or home.

Is it an illegal threat that is not directed at any specific person?

– You have to read the legal text to understand what the illegal threats mean. So it is an act or word that is likely to arouse serious fear in the recipient. So there doesn’t necessarily have to be a special recipient. In this case, it was an object that was designed in such a way that we think it could arouse serious fear, says Rickard Lundqvist.

Can you explain how this article was designed?

– Does not say in detail here [i anmälan]. But it was designed in such a way that it made both the person who found it and police personnel think of a dangerous object.

Was the object placed next to a car or house?

– It was on the street, I don’t know exactly where. Not adjacent to any building or car as I understood it. But I don’t have all the details, says Rickard Lundqvist.

Friday’s bomb alert in Rosengård is one of several in recent times.

• On October 15, the police bomb squad was alerted when an object resembling a hand grenade was found in connection with a car fire. The object was examined and found harmless.

• On October 16, Hårds väg found an explosive object in a parking lot. It was deactivated by police bomb technicians.

• On the night of October 16, an object that was considered dangerous was found under the viaduct in the center of Rosengård. Large parts of Amiralsgatan were blocked. The object turned out to be harmless.

• And four days later, on October 20, the police were alerted to Västra Kattarpsvägen. A box was deactivated. Police at the scene announced afterward that the object was probably not dangerous.

• On 21 October, the police examined two objects in the area, partly on Amiralsgatan, near the center of Rosengård, and on the same street as the previous day, Västra Kattarpsvägen. Both objects were harmless.
