In the last 24 hours, 859 new coronavirus infections were recorded in Denmark. It is the highest daily figure of the entire pandemic.
The country has now found a total of 38,622 infected with corona. 125 people are hospitalized. 18 of them receive intensive care, of which 13 on a respirator. 697 people have died in covid-19.
A total of 31,295 Danes have had corona infection, but were later declared healthy.
On Friday, the website of the National Board of Health went down under pressure from the many Danes who wanted to participate in the response to their corona tests.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, S, called a press conference at 6.30 pm Friday in which she announced the new rules.
Party leaders were informed
At 4.30 pm, all party leaders were called to the Prime Minister for information. The intention was to give advance notice of the new planned measures.
At the press conference, the Prime Minister announced that the parochial ban will be tightened from a maximum of 50 people to a maximum of ten people.
– At the same time, we also limit the number of people you can meet privately, says Mette Frederiksen.
– From Monday and four weeks onwards, it is recommended not to meet with more than ten people other than your own family and colleagues in the workplace or in training. We know that this is a measure that will impact strongly.
Mouth guards should be worn everywhere
Henceforth, mouth guards must be used in all public contexts.
– This also applies, for example, inside stores during purchase, in cinemas and hospitals, says Mette Frederiksen.
Stores are prohibited from selling alcohol after 10 pm There is already a corresponding ban in bars and restaurants across the country.
Most of the new restrictions go into effect Monday.
New border closures
On Thursday came the news that Denmark is closing the border again for the Scanians.
The border is also closed for Norrbotten, Sörmland and Västra Götaland. These rules are in effect from night to Saturday at 00:00.
Previously, the border was closed to people from Blekinge, Kronoberg, Halland, Jönköping, Östergötland, Örebro, Västmanland, Stockholm, Uppsala, Gotland, Dalarna and Jämtland / Härjedalen.
The Prime Minister also announced at the press conference that border surveillance will now be further strengthened.
