During the week the long-awaited message arrived. Beginning November 1, the government will open soccer stands across the country to the public when the ceiling is raised to 300 people. The audience must sit and maintain a distance of one meter from each other, while allowing two people, in the same company, to sit together.
A decision that was welcomed by Skåneklubbarna Helsingborg and Malmö FF when the associations previously announced that they will distribute available tickets, for the remaining home games, to annual cardholders and partners.
But now comes a change. Infection control Skåne opposes the government’s public announcement while wanting the 50-person limit to be maintained. This was announced by the Skåne County Board of Directors in a press release. An investigation has been launched to possibly maintain the audience limit of 50 participants at public meetings and public events in Skåne.
– Right now, it’s a worrying development in Skåne that we don’t want to risk getting worse, says Eva Melander, infection control doctor at Smittskydd Skåne.
County Director Ola Melin:
– I understand that this is a message that can cloud the joy that many Scanian organizers have experienced after the government’s message. At the same time, we are very concerned about the situation Smittskydd Skåne describes. We have a few days until November 1. We remain in close contact with Smittskydd Skåne to follow the development over the next week. I sincerely hope that in Skåne we can also go to games and performances with 300 people in November.
“A county administrative board has the opportunity to make decisions on local regulations in accordance with the Fewer Participants Ordinance if necessary to counter the spread of the pandemic,” writes the Skåne County Administrative Board.
The football channel has requested the management of the Malmö and Helsingborg club without success.
