The find was made at 12 o’clock on Friday. The hunter called the police after making a find in a field, west of Uppsala.
Police technicians were called to the scene to investigate whether it could be a crime.
– They make the assessment that what is on the site are parts of the skeleton of a human, says police spokesman Jonas Eronen.
Investigating murder
A preliminary investigation into the murder has been launched.
– One of the first measures is to check if there may be links with other cases, but also if it is someone who has been previously reported as missing.
At present, he cannot specify where exactly the parts of the skeleton have been found, other than that it is within the Uppsala municipality but outside the urban area.
It’s too early to tell if it’s a man or a woman, or how long the skeletal parts have been there. As of Friday night, the technical investigation on the site is still ongoing.
