The Managing Director of Brås rented an apartment from the Police Foundation

The Stockholm Police Foundation owns a property in central Stockholm. Anyone has been able to apply for an apartment in the building, but the board must give approval, where several high-ranking police officers sat. But DN has previously revealed that the members used their own positions to get apartments on the property themselves.

The CEO of Brås lives in an apartment run by the police.

One of those who lives on the property is Brås CEO Kristina Svartz, writes DN.

This, along with one of Brås’s most important assignments, is examining the police service.

Kristina Svartz did not want to be interviewed by DN, but writes in a text message to the newspaper that she does not believe her position in Brå is affected by the fact that she lives in an apartment run by the Stockholm Police:

Brå produces a knowledge base to support, among other things, the operational development of the police. My assessment is that it is not affected.

“There was no conflict of interest”

She refers to her husband, Nils Svartz, who received the lease in 1998. He was previously acting CEO of MSB, and prior to that position as curator in policing in Stockholm, but is now retired.

Neither he nor the then president of the foundation, Gunno Gunnmo, believe that there was a conflict of interest between them, even though they were in the same management group when the contract was drawn up.

– I don’t see any major problems with the management team and with the police. So the question is whether a police officer can get an apartment on the property. So the answer is yes. Therefore, there is a risk of suspicion of a conflict of interest situation. There was no conflict situation in relation to Svartz, Gunnmo tells DN.
