Raouf Sharifi, 26, who lives in Alingsås, has been missing for 11 days, since 12 October.

– He was last seen at the Vimpeln Mall. There are surveillance cameras where he is seen exiting through a revolving door, says Thomas Fuxborg, a police spokesman.

The police have launched a preliminary investigation into an alleged kidnapping.

– We suspect that he may have been the victim of a crime, says Fuxborg.

The police urge anyone who can comment on the 26-year-old to call the police at 11414.

The police come out with the search according to Raouf Sharifi’s family. The family hopes this can bring valuable advice from the public.

Greta Larsson, head of the preliminary investigation for missing persons in the Älvsborg police area, says that Raouf Sharifi stayed and returned from the Vimpeln shopping center overnight on 12 October.

– At 21.21 he leaves the mall for the last time. He is alone and exits through revolving doors at the main entrance on the way to County Highway 180. After exiting on the spinning wheel, he is gone without a trace, he claims.

Greta Larsson explains that the police work extensively with the investigation:

– We just don’t know what happened to him. We then opened a preliminary investigation into an alleged kidnapping for tactical investigative reasons. We have the opportunity to take other types of investigative measures besides the simple report of a missing person.

He has nothing concrete that points to a kidnapping at this time, he explains. No perpetrator is suspected.

– The longer a person is absent, the greater the reason to believe that something has happened, says Greta Larsson.

In the first instance, the police want advice and feedback from the Vimpeln shopping center at the relevant time.

– If someone has made other observations from other places, we are also interested.
