The spread of the infection has increased considerably in Skåne in recent weeks.
According to Danish standards, there should be no more than an average of 30 new cases per day, per 100,000 inhabitants.
Skåne has already crossed that border. Skåne’s average over the last two weeks is now 46.3 cases per 100,000, according to the Danish SSI.
In addition to Skåne, three more regions cannot travel to the neighboring country: Norrbotten, Sörmland and Västra Götaland.
The border is already closed to people from Blekinge, Kronoberg, Halland, Jönköping, Östergötland, Örebro, Västmanland, Stockholm, Uppsala, Gotland, Dalarna and Jämtland / Härjedalen.
Some Scanians are admitted
However, people from Skåne who work in Denmark seem to continue to enter the country. Those with “acceptable reasons” are also admitted, which include studies, family visits and business trips.
Special rules also apply to residents of Skåne, Halland and Blekinge. If you can show passport, proof of address and negative covid proof that is not older than 72 hours, you will be admitted.
Anyone with a trip booked from Denmark is admitted.
For just over two and a half months, the people of Skåne have been allowed to travel to Denmark, despite the pandemic.
On July 9, many Danes were relieved when the Swedish tourists were welcomed again. But now it’s over. The high level of infection in Skåne indicates that the border will remain closed for a time, if nothing unexpected happens.
“Everyone must take responsibility, do not relax,” said the Prime Minister.
