All events for a seated audience will have a new audience ceiling of 300 people. The message applies to cultural and sporting events, but also to religious gatherings. The change applies as of November 1.
The government has previously announced that it has planned a higher maximum limit of 500 people, but has now chosen to set the limit at 300 people. This is done with reference to the current infection situation.
Modification of the Regulation it means that people from the same company will be able to sit together. Others must sit at least one meter apart. However, after a dialogue with infection control physicians, county administrative boards may introduce local regulations that should allow fewer people.
– Each resident must keep up to date with what is applied in their region and these decisions also presuppose that culture and sport bear a great responsibility, said Stefan Löfven.
– If that is not the case, the government will not hesitate to re-adjust 50 people, continued the Prime Minister.
However, the government announced also on new restrictions to face dance performances that have been performed in discos, despite the prevailing pandemic. To avoid congestion, the government has decided that public dance performances for more than 50 people will once again be banned.
– It must be finalized now in the nightclubs and it must be for the time necessary so that we do not have a drastically increased spread of the infection, said Stefan Löfven and said that too many deficiencies in the activities of the clubs have been reported.

The government has also decided to expand the law on temporary infection control measures in restaurants. The temporary infection control measures, which would otherwise expire at the end of the year, will run until the last day of May 2021.
