Hörby city manager fired – after naked toilet scandal

On September 3, some 40 managers from the municipality of Hörby gathered for an annual management conference at Örenäs Castle, on the outskirts of Landskrona.

After the conference, reports emerged that two senior managers had bathed naked in front of other employees in the castle pool. According to eyewitnesses, both directors must have been drunk.

The incident provoked strong reactions, both among the residents of the municipality and in the town hall.

Several unions together criticized the municipal director Lena Stenudd Mårtensson and the handling of the incident by the municipal administration.

Now she is fired, according to Sydsvenskan.

She is “removed from office with immediate effect” according to a protocol of the municipal council working committee, the newspaper writes.

According to municipality documents that Kvällsposten has read, Lena Mårtensson Stenudd will resign with a parachute worth approximately one million crowns from Hörby municipality. With her from her previous job as municipal director in Åstorp, she already has a golden deal. Like the job at Hörby, the job at Åstorp also ended with the dismissal of Lena Mårtensson Stenudd, but with a salary withheld of SEK 89,000 per month until January 2021.

Another boss is fired.

Kvällposten has contacted Lena Mårtensson Stenudd for comment.
