A real storm is breaking out right now on the Greek tourist from Rhodes.
Tour operator Tui urges all of its customers on site to stay indoors.
– It was a bit uncomfortable, says Christian, 40, from Örebro.
In dramatic images from Rhodes you can see a real storm moving across the island. Christian, 40, from Örebro filmed a tornado passing through the island.
– We realized that the tornado was approaching and passed and broke the roof of the hotel next to ours, he says.
Message sent
Christian, who is on vacation in Rhodes with his five-year-old son Leon, says he looked a little closer and saw things flying through the air.
– The staff felt uncomfortable and closed the pool bar, among other things, he says.
The tornado moved back and forth along the coast for nearly an hour, says Christian.
In connection with the storm, the organizer Tui sent a message to all his customers at the scene.
– It’s autumn and sometimes the weather is bad. So we always reach out to our customers, says Adam Györki, communications manager at Tui.
“Stay inside”
The tour operator currently has about 350 Swedish clients on Rhodes, according to Adam Györki.
– After being in contact with local authorities, we usually send messages to clients. Right now it’s raining and blowing in Rhodes. So we’ve urged everyone to stay indoors until it’s over, he says.
When Aftonbladet reaches Christian and his son, they are sitting inside, but they are not very concerned.
– No, it feels good. Tui sent information very quickly. It worked well, says Christian.
