After the viewing storm: settles on the walls coming back

It was in mid-October that SVT decided to pause the program It’s on the Walls to focus on a younger target group, this despite high viewership figures. The decision has caused great disappointment among viewers, especially among the elderly who feel discriminated against.

“It makes me so sad”

Among the thousands of emails SVT has received, many annoying voices are heard:

“Watch a little television, but in such cases watch almost exclusively on SVT. There are many good and serious programs with you. One of my favorites is precisely: it sits on the walls. Why is it going to host such a serious and interesting program with fantastic presenters? Please. Don’t quit! “

“I see with concern that you are removing and lowering the old … I feel this decision, one among several before, as if you wanted the elders to drag us to Corona so that you avoid us. This makes me very sad and I no longer recognize myself in Swedish society ”.

“Well-formulated declarations of love”

But on Tuesday, SVT changed.

– After a massive engagement with many well-formulated declarations of love by the show It’s on the Walls, we realize that viewers want more and therefore we make another new season of the show, says Anton Glanzelius, host of the show entertainment at SVT, in a press release.

“We humbly return”

Glanzelius makes no secret of the fact that it was the visual storm that caused the channel to recede.

– We have heard all the arguments to maintain the program and above all we have heard how loved the program is throughout the country. We humbly step away from previous plans to pause the show and thank everyone who heard from us.

It sits on the walls and is scheduled to air sometime in 2021.
