Within minutes, the Albertslund district, which is just over a mile west of Copenhagen, was transformed.
– We shouldn’t go out to the police. We have heard a rumor that Peter Madsens will have a bomb, says Bent Lasse Olsen to Kvällposten.
The retiree ended up in the drama when he was visiting a neighbor.
– I’ve lived here for 35 years, and otherwise it’s quiet and peaceful here, says Bent Lasse Olsen.
Snipers outside
Under neighbor Bo’s balcony were the police snipers targeting Madsen.
– Now we can’t be on the balcony, says Bent Lasse Olsen.
From inside Bo’s apartment, they can see parts of the police force that quickly assembled in Albertslund.
– But I can’t see Madsen, says Bent Lasse Olsen.
He and the neighbor, like everyone else who lives in the area, are forced to stay inside their apartments while they wait for the Danish police pump technicians to have time to investigate Peter Madsen’s clothes.
