The Chalmers student union is planning a huge Halloween party with bouncy castles, karaoke, and various bars. But the event faces criticism, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

– You have to be very careful when it comes to events like this. This type of party, when many people gather in small areas and you easily forget to keep their distance, is not very suitable at this time, infection control doctor Thomas Wahlberg tells the newspaper.

The student union defends itself by thinking of reducing the spread of the infection.

– We will think about the whole. Make sure no lines form and make sure everyone can sit at a safe distance, David Welander, president of Chalmers student unions, tells GP.

Two weeks ago, Higher Education Minister Matilda Ernkrans (S) addressed the country’s students at a press conference.

– Now to the student parties – unfortunately there are too many students who are not responsible and now we have to refine. We cannot make colleges and universities become groups of crown centers, said the minister.
