Gareth Bale replaced, then Tottenham collapsed.

They lost 3-0 to 3-3.

– Nobody thought this would happen, says José Mourinho.

It had been seven years, four months and 29 days since Gareth Bale played football in the Tottenham Hotspur jersey. On Sunday night, the audience favorite returned. With 20 minutes remaining and with a 3-0 lead against West Ham, coach José Mourinho opted to replace his new acquisition.

Then the unlikely happened.

Total kollaps

The Spurs, who until then had been in full control of events, completely collapsed and lost 3-3.

In the 82nd minute Fabián Balbuena made it 3-1, in the 85th Davinson Sánchez scored an own goal, and in the fourth extra minute Manuel Lanzini took a step forward with a dream goal at 3-3.

– West Ham is a much better team this year compared to last year. We were aware of that. What happened? I am allowed to analyze this later. But this is football. Today we were punished, says Mourinho.

Lie behind everything

Before West Ham’s 3-3 goal, Gareth Bale had burned a great opportunity to make it 4-2.

Too bad it didn’t score there. He had decided the match, says Mourinho.

The star was thus speechless on his return. However, it was not Harry Kane / Heung-Min Son.

The match had just 45 seconds when the latter scored 1-0, assisted by the former. And seven minutes later, the roles changed when Son played Kane 2-0.

Another eight minutes later, Kane nodded on his second goal of the afternoon and fifth of the season.

Kane and Son have already added 12 goals in five games played this season. Together they have scored more goals than Manchester United (9), Arsenal (8) and Manchester City (7).

But the match against West Ham ended 3-3.

– No one thought this would happen. If you score three goals in a soccer match, you shouldn’t lose points, says José Mourinho.
