The Swedish Health and Care Inspectorate (Ivo) places a plastic clinic in Södertälje with a ban on continuing operations after serious deficiencies have been found, SVT Nyheter reports.

The clinic was forced to close as early as September after it turned out that the operation was carried out without a building permit. But since then, Ivo has encountered such significant deficiencies in the business that “they pose a significant risk to life and health.”

Ivo points out deficiencies in the competence of the staff, the hygiene of the facilities and the follow-up of the remaining patients. Several people have had life-threatening complications after operations at the clinic. Therefore, Ivo is also demanding that the Health Care Accountability Committee revoke the surgeon’s physician identification.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority has also found several deficiencies in the clinic, among other things, the chemicals have not been stored properly. If the deficiencies are not corrected, a trade ban from the Swedish Work Environment Authority may also be relevant.
