The alarm reached SOS shortly after 11 a.m. on Sunday. The rescue service was sent to the scene with eight units. The ambulance and police were also on the scene to assist the rescue service.
– There is a fire in an apartment on the fifth floor, says Peter Adlersson, spokesman for the police in the western region.
The fire went out
At 11:40 a.m. the fire went out and the rescue service removed the objects damaged by the fire from the apartment, in addition to ventilating the house. The injury situation is unclear, but currently no one has had to be taken to hospital.
– It is too early to tell how the fire started, we are still working on the site, says Sara Rosenquist, alarm operator and rescue service management in Greater Gothenburg.
According to the GP reporter at the site, there are still many cars at the site, and much of the street below Oscar Fredrik’s church is cordoned off. But the atmosphere is described as calm and firefighters are rolling on their hoses. Residents who have left their apartments are standing in the courtyard waiting for them to re-enter.
