The drama started even before the start. Norrby goalkeeper Mergim Krasniqi was injured in the warm-up and Tim Svensson quickly made his Superettan debut.
– Mergim collapsed when we finished, it was just to prepare and make the most of the situation, says Tim Svensson, who had a lot to do.
The first half contained almost everything except a well-organized defense. Already after 45 seconds, Alen Krasnici made it 1-0 to Norrby. Then Charlie Weberg tied with a header before the guests’ Oke Akpoveta stayed ahead and made it 2-1. By then, Boris Lumbana had already been warned after a hand-held situation that ended with the ball entering the goal (discarded).
– Pull me to yell about it first. Very strange, but now it turned out how it did. Fortunately, we received a penalty a bit later, so it evens out well, says Boris Lumbana on Dplay.
“Gap, psychic screams and masks”
He pushed Richard Yarsuvat behind Tim Svensson in the 33rd minute. Four goals in just over half an hour, but it wasn’t the end there. Just before the break, Norrby took the lead for the third time through Abdelrahman Saidi.
– We got off to a shitty start, but otherwise we make a great half. Still, we’re behind, says coach Stefan Jacobsson.
The second half became calmer, at least on purpose. Gais was tough at the end and received another penalty after a hand in injury time. Then Meinhard Olsson stepped forward. Tim Svensson again went in the right direction, but failed to save.
3-3 – and Gais took a very important point in the search for a new contract. Especially considering that Stefan Jacobsson painted the Norrby encounter, four suits behind green and black, as a six-point match.
– In the second part there were gaps, screams, psychiatrists and masks and everything. Both teams will probably be a bit disappointed afterwards, but strong that we get up and score a point, says Gai’s coach.
Difficult game schedule
Already on Sunday, Ekedalens SK is waiting in the Swedish Cup. And on Wednesday, Gais will face Jönköping before it’s time for Umeå the following Monday, both out.
– Every game is very important now. It’s not over yet, says Stefan Jacobsson.
