Burger chain Bastard Burgers may also use its name in Skåne in the future. When Malmökrogen Bastard now changes its name, Bronx Burgers can also become Bastard Burgers in Malmö and Helsingborg. In a few weeks they will reopen in Emporia and next year there may be another 1-2 places in Malmö.

The northern burger chain, Bastard Burgers, is growing rapidly in Sweden. This week they opened their 40th restaurant, then in Västerås.

But in Malmö they have had problems because Malmökrogen Bastard meant that they could not use his name and instead got the name Bronx Burgers when it started at Kalendegatan in Malmö and at Södergatan in Helsingborg.

Last week, however, Sydsvenskan was able to tell that Bastard is now changing its name to Ruths with a full-day restaurant and deli. In connection with this, Bastard Burgers has purchased the Bastard trademark and registered it with the Patent and Registration Office.

A board meeting was held on Friday and it is now clear that Bronx Burgers will disappear and become Bastard Burgers at the end of the month.

– Yes, we will change the names in Malmö and Helsingborg and we will make a rebrand in the restaurants from October 30 to 31. We celebrate it with simple gigs at both restaurants, Simon Wanler, CEO of Bastard Burger, tells Dygnet Runt.

On November 7 Bastard Burgers will open their new restaurant in Malmö. On the third floor of the Emporia. But there is no stopping there. The hamburger chain aims to open some fifteen new units in Sweden next year and the main strategy is to intensify in the three big cities.

– Yes, we are looking at 1-2 establishments in Malmö next year and we hope to present it more concretely in the future, says Simon Wanler.
