November 14 of last year was the last time anyone saw a sign of life in 17-year-old Wilma Andersson.
A great search effort was made and thousands of volunteers organized to search, in addition to police and military.
Later in November, Wilma’s head was found in her boyfriend Tishko Ahmed’s apartment, but searches are still being conducted regularly to find the rest of the girl.
On the legal side, the process is still ongoing where Tishko Ahmeds is awaiting his sentence from the Court of Appeal, the district court sentenced him to life in prison.
Various services are performed
Memorial services will be held at Herrestad church on Friday for those who want to say goodbye.
– I think it helps to be able to put a positive point and feel gratitude for what it has been and the hard work you have to leave there right now and so we move on, says Ingvar Humlén interim parish priest in the Herrestad parish to P4 Oeste.
The first service started at 10.30, there will be several during the day due to the ongoing pandemic, more than 50 people will not be allowed to enter at a time.
For those who want, there is also the opportunity to light candles and leave flowers, writes P4.
The family said goodbye in silence
– We believe that it is important that everyone who wants to can have the opportunity and then we try to do our best, says Ingvar Humlén
Wilma’s family farewell took place in silence a couple of weeks ago with a funeral.
– It was a beautiful, quiet and peaceful funeral with the family and those closest to them. The family also wants to stop helping them bury all of Wilma and join future search efforts, Wilma’s family said through Daniel Brodin, former operations manager for Volunteer Efforts in Crisis and Disaster (Fikk).
