Last week Steve Scully, political editor for the C-span television company, was criticized by Trump for being a “never trumper.” In response, Scully tagged Trump’s former boss Anthony Scaramucci, who since 2019 has strongly disassociated himself from the president’s policies.
Scully wrote:
“Should I respond to Trump?”
The tweet attracted a lot of attention, and when it did, Steve Scully blamed that it had been hacked and had not written the post himself.
This week he admitted that he himself is behind the tweet and explained that he was frustrated that he had been criticized for his role as host for several weeks, including by President Trump.
– These have been errors of judgment for which I am fully responsible. I apologize, he says according to the AP.
Trump’s response: “He was right!”
He is now suspended from C-span, the American television company that primarily broadcasts the president’s speeches, Senate rallies, ministries press conferences and presidential election debates live.
Steve Scully would have been the host of the second debate between Trump and Joe Biden.
After the C team confirmed that Scully had been fired, Trump tweeted:
“He was right again! Steve Scully just admitted that he lied about hacking his Twitter. The debate was rigged! It is suspended from interval C indefinitely. The Trump campaign was not treated fairly by the “Commission.” Do you think I have a good instinct when I was the first to know? “
