The number of patients receiving intensive care due to covid-19 is increasing.

In a short time, the number of patients in the intensive care unit treated for COVID-19 has doubled. According to the National Board of Health and Welfare, the increase is expected.

The number of patients treated in intensive care for covid-19 now stands at 31. This means a sharp increase, compared to what it was just a month ago, when only 16 patients were treated in IVA for covid-19 and three days earlier , when the number was reduced to twelve.

“We can see a slow increase in hospitalized patients and intensive care. This is expected based on the increasing spread of the infection in society that has been reported by the Public Health Agency. At the moment we do not receive any reports from the regions of significant impact on health care due to covid-19 “. greater concern for the future in most regions compared to what was reported during August and September, ”writes Johanna Sandwall, head of emergency preparedness for the National Board of Health and Welfare, in a comment to TT.

Today’s figures, however, cannot be compared to when it was at its worst in the spring, in late April, when more than 550 patients received intensive care for the coronavirus.
