The social partners announce that they will resume negotiations on labor legislation at the end of the week. The previous round of negotiations recently failed, prompting the Left Party to threaten Prime Minister Stefan Löfven with arousing distrust in the Riksdag if he goes ahead with proposals that V claims undermine job security.
Now V stops his threat of mistrust.
– As long as the parties negotiate, we will rest on our laurels. So there is no reason to disturb him with riots in the Riksdag. We want the parties to settle without political interference, says Jonas Sjöstedt.
The V-leader emphasizes that the resumption of negotiations between the parties is exactly what the Left Party has sought. We also want the investigation into government-mandated changes to labor law eliminated.
– Now we want the government to clarify very soon that the investigation is set aside and is not carried out. My very strong call to the Prime Minister is to come out as soon as possible and say that the Las No Investigation will end, says Jonas Sjöstedt.
Jonas Sjöstedt has high hopes that the social partners will reach a solution.
– They wouldn’t have started this if they didn’t believe there was a real possibility. The important thing now is that everyone knows that the legislation will not go through the Riksdag. It provides better conditions, he says.
Previously, the leader in V said that Stefan Löfven has a few weeks to give notice. He emphasizes that that deadline still applies, but that as long as the parties negotiate, V will not unleash his threat.
– As long as you do not continue with the investigation, it is not wrong to give the parties the time they need.
– Now we give the parties a chance. If they don’t, we’re in a different situation, says Jonas Sjöstedt.
