Jesper Karlsson continues to excel in the U21.
Today he represented a hat trick against Armenia in the qualifying rounds of the European Championship.
Emil Hansson also scored a hat trick and the result was a total of 10-0.
Sweden would be the one that would have the advantage of playing at home in tonight’s game against Armenia. However, due to travel restrictions, the match will be played on neutral ground, specifically in Poland.
However, it did not appear to affect Sweden. After the break, Jesper Karlsson, 22, had scored a hat trick, with two penalties and one goal. That gives him five goals in two games in the European Championship qualifiers.
– Today I scored many goals. I’m pretty sure from the penalty spot so no oddities, Karlsson tells C More after the match.
Paolo’s substitute, Abraham, 18, stayed, already in his first touch of the ball in the game, for a true goal of class. The ball made a perfect arc over the defender and the goalkeeper, before landing in the goal. This makes Abraham the first player born in 2002 to score for the U21 team.
Double hat trick
After that, he ran away. Abraham scored another goal and Emil Hansson, 22, also scored a hat trick before the final score was 10-0. Armenia didn’t have a chance and in the end it almost felt like giving up. The last five goals were scored in just 16 minutes.
The excellent performances of Jesper Karlsson have reached Janne Andersson, the captain of the national team A.
– I just saw it was 3-0. Now there were two penalties per se. Jesper has grown tremendously and was alert on the January tour. Then we will see when and if he becomes a player for the A team. But obviously it is interesting for us, says Andersson, who is currently in the meeting of the national team with the A team.
To advance to the European Championship next year, Sweden needs to win their group or be in the top five runners-up. Italy leads the Swedish group with 16 points, while Sweden now has twelve points.
