Isak Pettersson, 23, can take the flight to Lisbon.
IFK Norrköping goalkeeper reinforces the squad of the Swedish national team.
“It’s a minor injury for one of our goalkeepers,” says national team captain Janne Andersson.
After the 1-2 loss to Croatia, Portugal awaits this national team break this Wednesday in the last match of the Nations League.
Isak Pettersson will join the team in Lisbon.
“It’s a minor injury for one of our goalkeepers and to save the weekend we decided to call Isak Pettersson so that we have four goalkeepers available,” Janne Andersson says on the SvFF website.
The SvFF press release does not indicate which goalkeeper feels injured. Isak Pettersson has previously made two international appearances for Sweden.
Augustinsson is gone
It was already clear that Ludwig Augustinsson would not accompany the game against Portugal. This is because the Bremen health authority considers Portugal to be a high risk area, which means that Augustinsson, in such cases, would have had to be quarantined for five days when he returned to Bremen.
The left-back left the squad after the game against Croatia and has gone home to Bremen.
Sweden will face Portugal in Lisbon on Wednesday with the kick-off at 8:45.
