On Friday afternoon, an extensive police operation was underway in Frufällan, eight kilometers north of Borås.
Police were alerted to the scene after the shooting alarms and the victim, a 16-year-old boy, was found in the area. According to GT, he was shot in the chest.
According to information from Aftonbladet, the 16-year-old was forced to undress at the time of the crime, before he was shot with a shotgun. He was later said to have jumped into the water near the promontory police identified as the crime scene and was later able to call for help at a nearby house.
Two 16-year-olds on the loose
The case is being investigated as an attempted murder and the police have two suspects in the investigation, two children the same age as the victim.
The last known sighting of the two is related to the assassination attempt on Friday.
The 16-year-olds are still staying away Monday afternoon, both are arrested in their absence by prosecutors.
Both the police and the prosecutors believe that the two 16-year-olds have not left the country after the event.
– There is nothing to indicate that they have left the country, they are quite young and we do not believe that they have left the country without staying abroad, says Ove Jäverfelt, prosecutor.
Police and prosecutors want advice
Stina Frenning is the police investigation leader and says they are in dire need of public comment.
– We are in great need of public input. If you’ve seen two 16-year-olds, they are dark-haired, trying to stay away, you can hear them. We don’t know if they are staying in Frufällan, Borås or if they are in western Sweden. If you’ve seen something somewhere, we’re very interested, he says.
Ove Jäverfelt also says they need advice from the public.
– We would like people who see people who may be in a summer cabin that is actually locked for the winter to contact us. We need the help of the public, if you see something and think it might be someone hiding here, he says.
