Last week, the Expressen editorial staff wrote that “M frontman Ulf Kristersson has an ambition to be the adult in the room. When it comes to climate policy, it sadly sits at the children’s table, ”after moderates proposed a reduction in the oil tax.
The focus of the climate debate: electricity transport
During Sunday’s party leader debate, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) claimed that Sweden is leading the way in terms of electric airplanes and electric roads.
Ebba Busch of the Christian Democrats responded that electrification of the transportation sector is very important and that individuals who buy an electric car should receive a higher bonus.
He also criticized Swedish climate policy, claiming it did not invest enough domestically.
– We must have a coherent climate policy. Now we export climate-smart jobs and emissions abroad, he says.
Nyamko Sabuni of the Liberals also said he wanted to “increase the ambition” of Swedish climate policy.
