Englishman Tyrrell Hatton’s choice of clothing in the last European competition has become a topic of conversation in the world of golf. In a sport full of etiquette, something as mundane as a hoodie can create controversy.

Tyrrell Hatton dominates the PGA British Championship, the classic European Tour competition at Wentworth, outside London. But it’s not his three cannon rounds that have been the hottest topic of conversation during the competition.
Instead, it is his clothing that many discuss. The 28-year-old has played in a hoodie, to which the conservative part of the golf world has growled.
But Hatton defends the hoodie.
– It is interesting that it generates debate. People have different opinions, they don’t know whether to like it or not. But I think it’s fun for people to talk about it, you have to be open to the idea of creating a more permissive sport instead of being snobbish, says the four-time European Tour winner according to Sky Sports, among others.
– I think we have to move on. If it’s comfortable to play golf and it looks good, I don’t understand the problem.
In any case, there seem to be a lot of people who like the new way of thinking. When the clothing brand behind the jersey came out and offered similar jerseys to ten of Hatton’s fans, the answer was correct.
– When I woke up in the morning, I saw that there were about 9,500 responses on Twitter. But sweaters are pretty, and there’s no reason you should have a problem with them, she says.
Before Sunday’s final round, Hatton leads at -14, three strokes ahead of Frenchman Victor Perez and Danish Joachim B. Hansen.
