The son, who is now 31, lived with his family in an apartment in his mother’s villa in Järfälla municipality. But the mother wanted to sell the villa and a conflict must have arisen, according to prosecutor Sara Norling.
– The conflict over the housing relationship had lasted a long time, but it worsened in April when she asked her son to move out. He believed that he had a right to the house and that if he moved he wanted his mother to pay him money, he says.
Fled through a window
In April, the mother called the police three times and reported him for illegal threats, according to the prosecutor.
– The investigation was ongoing and had not been completed when he attacked her, says Sara Norling.
On May 16, several neighbors heard the mother screaming in despair and several people alerted the police.
“I don’t know he looks screwed up, so he also has a kitchen knife,” said a caller.
The son, armed with a knife, attacked, according to the suspects.
– Based on traces of blood inside the house, I affirm that the attack started there. She fled through a window, he followed her and continued to stab her in the plot. He received 31 stab wounds and died, says Sara Norling.
The police arrived at the scene a few minutes later and the son was arrested a few meters from the mother’s body.
He has now been charged with murder and the trial begins on Monday.
Prosecutor: He was subjected to great suffering
– There are several aggravating circumstances. This happened at his home, it was a long course of events and there were many stab wounds. Witnesses have heard her cry out in despair and this indicates that she has suffered greatly. I will present this during the hearing, says Sara Norling.
He goes on to say that he still cannot say what punishment he will claim.
Several neighbors are called as witnesses, since they are said to have seen part of the course of events. A police officer must testify that the mother reported the son’s death in April and was afraid of him.
The son under questioning agreed that he was at the scene on May 16, but said he only has vague memories, according to the prosecutor.
– All I can say is that he denies the crime, says lawyer Abdel-Hay Alami who defends the man.
