After 20 years, the Masars return to the top.

As a Swedish champion.

Many thanks to the progress of the new acquisition Vadim Tarasenko in the rain.

Yesterday, Vadim Tarasenko secured the victory for the Masars in the first final of the Swedish Championship at home against the Indians. In the return at Kumla, he was again a winner of the match. In the 10th he was trailing 5-1 for the Masars, in the 11th he took another series win, and that set the stage for the club’s first Swedish Championship gold in 20 years.

– Right now we should be extremely happy to have it, Masarna team leader Stefan Bäckström tells C More.

The Russian continued to drive well and not even rain could prevent the Masars from taking the Swedish Championship title. In the fourteenth heat, the match was decided as Antonio Lindbäck took the victory by heat against Vadim Tarasenko.

The insured gold.

– It is this Vadim Tarasenko who comes and takes the shit out of them. It comes out of nowhere, gets a late release permit, and then fixes it, Stefan Bäckström tells C More.

Storm in Kumla

For Antonio Lindbäck, this was a very emotional victory, he managed to win his first Swedish Championship title in a team together with his mother club Masarna.

And it was also the first time since 2000 that the Masars won the title.

– It’s absolutely wonderful, I’ve been waiting for it for a long time and we’ve been fighting for it for so long. To be able to finish also since we have been driving all year. It’s fantastic, Antonio Lindbäck tells C More.

– This means a lot, I have driven for the Masars for so many years, we have been very close, but we have not really been there. Since then we have had so many difficult years, but now we are finally there.

The Indians and team leader Peter Johansson were disappointed after the loss (82-98). The team lacked Max Fricke and Niels Kristian Iversen and failed to reverse their pre-game disadvantage.

“We can digest this and somehow be happy with a silver,” says Johansson.

– At the same time, it’s funny that Masarna and we have used most of the Swedish drivers who are in a final of the Swedish championship.
