September 1st said state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell in Aktuellt that special recommendations for people over 70 will soon no longer be necessary. But what will happen now that the spread of the infection throughout the country has accelerated again?
Johan Carlson, Director General of the Swedish Public Health Agency, responded to this in the Aktuellt on Thursday.
– We continue working both with the opening for sporting and cultural events and for those over 70 years old. For those who have special restrictions due to age, our ambition is that we can have the same restrictions for all people who have no special reasons. The ambition is that as soon as we see that the situation has stabilized and is balanced, we also put those restrictions aside, he says.
Have you said it before in a couple of weeks?
– Yes, if it looks good, our ambition is to present a message as soon as possible.
“The hope of a Christmas together does not end”
All those hoping to have as normal a holiday celebration as possible with family and friends shouldn’t give up, says Carlson.
– They can socialize, but they may not get very close, but dining and socializing inside the house should go well. The hope of a Christmas together has not been exhausted, Christmas is far away.
Just a few days ago, however, Tegnell came out and said in an interview with Today news It’s not a good opportunity to hang out with a lot of people at Christmas that you don’t usually know. Carlson responded this way.
– Large family parties and meeting a lot of people is not a good idea for a long time. A Christmas together should be off and there shouldn’t be too many people, says Johan Carlson.
