Recruited as a replacement for “Monster”.
But the debut was a failure for Jussi Rynnäs, who was replaced in the 9th minute in the loss to Färjestad.
– I am cosmically disappointed, says Linköping coach Bert Robertsson.
With a multitude of restaurants in the arena, Färjestad posted his first home win of the season after 5-4. Against Linköping, they got off to a good start.
In just nine minutes and eleven seconds, the home team outscored goalkeeper Jussi Rynnäs three times to gain a 3-0 lead. The seasoned Finn, with NHL credentials and replacement for Jonas “Monstret” Gustafsson, let in three of seven shots and was replaced by Niklas Lundström after the third goal.
Get up after the shock
– Of course it’s heavy. If you want to be positive you can find 50 good minutes, if you want to be negative you can think about what the hell we are doing in the first ten minutes, says Linköping’s Jonas Junland.
– We conceded too many goals. I think we act pretty wet in front of our own goalie. It’s a shame we have to replace Jussi like this. But it had some effect on the team. We have to fight for the team and support each other, Linköping coach Bert Robertsson tells C More during the break.
“Cosmically disappointed”
After the change of goalkeeper, the LHC returned. Broc Little attended the first reduction, and then, two minutes into the final period, he himself put the tie at 3-3. But then Rynnäs’ replacement was forced to let in his first goal of the match.
Färjestad responded and Lundström could see Daniel Viksten score 4-3 in the corner. In the final minutes, Jesse Virtanen put it 5-3 in the open area, before Little cut the final score 5-4.
“It hurts a lot, I’m happy that we can fight back, but I’m cosmically disappointed with our start in the game,” says LHC coach Bert Robertsson.
“You must find safety”
– I think that sometimes we have had the ability to collapse. When we play well, we play terribly well. And then when you pack, you really pack. I haven’t seen before that we score four, five goals in every away game and still manage to lose. It’s unique, says Jonas Junland of the LHC.
Backen thinks it’s a problem that concerns them.
– We have to find safety, we have 47-15 shooting or something like that and play them completely and lose. We can see in depth how we can spend 60 good minutes together. Because if you have to give away matches, it can be a long winter.
