The Left Party poses the threat of a vote of no confidence

A week ago, negotiations between the social partners on changes to the labor legislation were interrupted. The Left Party then demanded a response within a week from Stefan Löfven on how it should proceed.

– We have not received any messages from Stefan Löfven. Our impression is that he is staying away, says Jonas Sjöstedt.

The requirement of V is that The Prime Minister will dismiss the labor law investigation that is now on the government table. The investigation is part of the January agreement and proposes, among other things, more exceptions to the priority rules.

On Sunday, party leaders will meet for a debate on SVT and then Sjöstedt will ask Löfven how he sees the research proposal turning into new legislation. However, Sjöstedt does not want to give an exact deadline for when he should get a response.

– In the next few weeks, this needs to be resolved. There will be a day when we will have to set a deadline, but now the ball is with Stefan Löfven, says Jonas Sjöstedt.

V already has threatened to mistrust Stefan Löfven if his government comes up with proposals that worsen job security. Jonas Sjöstedt emphasizes that this threat remains.

– If the government chooses to continue with the research proposal, our assessment is that Sweden is moving towards additional elections, says Jonas Sjöstedt.

To arouse mistrust in the Riksdag, V is required to get at least one more match. According to Jonas Sjöstedt, he will address Christian Democrats if he becomes relevant with a statement of censorship. KD leader Ebba Busch has stated that she will use every opportunity to overthrow the Löfven government.

– There are those who wonder if we have a chance to trigger additional elections in Sweden. Our assessment is that we have it, says Jonas Sjöstedt.
