Today, the Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S), the Minister of Culture Amanda Lind (MP) and the director general of the Public Health Agency, Johan Carlsson, announced that the maximum audience limit in sporting and cultural events is not will raise 500 people.
– Europe seems to be the global center of the pandemic again and Sweden has left the low levels that we had this summer, says Lena Hallengren.
September 29 opened Interior Minister Mikael Damberg (s) and Culture Minister Amanda Lind (MP) expressed their relief at the audience limit of 50 people at sporting and cultural events. If the spread of the infection did not increase until October 8, some arenas and halls would be allowed to have 500 people in the audience starting October 15.
The Swedish Public Health Agency believes that the infection situation has deteriorated to such an extent that it is not possible to increase the audience limit.
– Society must focus on stopping the spread of infection now. That is why it is too early to implement aid, says Johan Carlsson.
He also announced that the Public Health Agency is now reviewing the possibility of introducing local restrictions. A proposal for consultation has been sent to the regional infection control authorities.
– Examples of this can be recommendations to avoid public transport, not to eat at restaurants, not to visit shopping centers and gyms and not to have any contact with people outside the family.
Amanda Lind regrets the message, but believes it is necessary.
– We plan to make the changes, but we are not doing it today. The contagion situation must allow such a proposal, he says and continues:
– As soon as possible, the changes will be made.
