It has taken a long time and many different perspectives have been taken into account, but now Vattenfall has applied. The idea is that the new power lines, to be built above ground, will run from Hedenlunda on the outskirts of Flen to Oxelösund and SSAB. This is to ensure the company’s future electricity supply and its conversion to fossil-free steel production.

“Dialogue with the landowners”
There has been concern among landowners in the area about how the pipes may affect the environment and the surroundings, as they will be built above words.
Have you taken this into account?
– We have had detailed dialogues with the landowners and, for example, we have moved poles through them. We have also tried where possible to put the new lines on the existing ones, says Mats Engstedt, Vattenfall unit manager.
Impact on Sörmlandsleden
The question has also arisen whether the Sörmlandsleden may be affected.
– The line will mean a new intersection on Sörmlandsleden. In other respects, we will follow the existing lines.

– You may see the lead when you look up in some places.
