– We take very seriously the situation that has arisen, says the president of the municipal council Cecilia Bladh in Zito (SD) at a press conference in the Hörby town hall.
After 32 city administrators in an open letter stated that they did not trust Hörby city director Lena Mårtensson Stenudd, both she and the deputy city director were released from work. An interim municipal director will be appointed next week.
The event during the conference at Örenäs castle in September is being investigated by a law firm. According to information to the media, two senior managers took off naked and jumped into a pool where other dressed employees were found.
Cecilia Bladh in Zito emphasizes that everyone who attended the conference should be able to comment on what happened. At the same time, an investigation of the work environment within the municipality is carried out.
– It is not enough to do an investigation around the conference, but it is also necessary to do an independent investigation on the work environment and the supposed culture of silence in the municipality of Hörby, he says and adds:
– All employees must be able to feel safe in the municipality of Hörby.
Municipal director Lena Mårtensson Stenudd has been criticized for her handling of the nude bathroom incident. Soon after, she said in interviews that there was inappropriate behavior at the conference, but that the matter for the municipality was resolved.
Following the incident, the unions have reported the municipality to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, which already earlier this year threatened the Hörby municipality with a fine due to deficiencies in the work environment.
