By early September, some 40 managers from the Hörby municipality had gathered for an annual management conference at Örenäs Castle, on the outskirts of Landskrona. According to several witnesses, the conference was derailed, among other things, two top managers are said to have bathed naked in front of other employees in the castle pool. According to eyewitnesses, both directors must have been drunk.

The incident provoked strong reactions, both among residents of the municipality and in the town hall.

Several managers within the municipality have accused City Manager Lena Stenudd Mårtensson of what can best be described as a reign of terror where a culture of silence prevails and employees live in constant concern of retaliation. And according to information from Kvällsposten, several managers have been forced to terminate their jobs.

In a letter, 32 managers announced Tuesday that their trust in the municipal director was exhausted. Later that day, the municipality announced that the municipal director and her closest husband had been fired.

The municipality of Hörby has called a press conference at 12.30 pm to report on the situation.
