The first final of the Swedish Speedway Championship is canceled

It was raining before the game, and according to the forecast, the rain would end around 8pm.

After a new referee meeting shortly after 8.30 pm, the decision was made to cancel the match.

– Unfortunately, it has rained too much during the day and the weather is ticking, so we had to make a sad decision, says Pontus Aspgren.

In the end, everyone agreed that the match should be canceled.

– Time does not accompany us with all the desired clarity. As much as we tried to complete the game, as much as we were, it is not possible to drive. There is a time aspect and we don’t have time to complete the game, says Indians team leader Peter Johansson.

Rain on Avesta too?

The last game number two at Avesta is planned for tomorrow. That match will now be final number one. But even there, the weather forecasts look bleak. Tuesday’s game now carries over to Thursday.

– That’s how it is on the race track, when we depend on the weather and the track. We can only hope that tomorrow’s weather report is wrong so we can go, says Pontus Aspgren.

World Cup driver missing

At this point, it is quite clear that the Indians will lose World Cup driver Max Fricke on Thursday, who will instead lead the Polish league final.

– Unfortunately, it belongs to team sport. Sometimes you have someone with you and other times someone injured. It’s just bad luck. We’ll see who we miss, says Masarna team leader Stefan Bäckström.

Move on to next week?

Starting October 15, 500 people can be received in the stands, if the government’s proposal is approved on Thursday.
Maybe it’s time to move both games to next week and get spectators in the stands?

– We’ve wanted that for a long time, but it’s not really an aspect of everything. In the current situation, it is tomorrow and Thursday that applies, says Peter Johansson.
