A 63-year-old man who has been accused of murdering his neighbor in Kungsbacka is now free in a verdict. The Varberg District Court considers that it cannot be ruled out that another person committed the murder.

The murder victim was also a man in his 60s. He was dead in his bed one day last summer when the home aide came to visit him. The deceased had been stabbed in the chest and received severe blows to the forehead.

According to witnesses, the 63-year-old man had threatened to kill his neighbor the day before. The defendant does not deny this, but on the other hand denies the murder.

Now, the Varberg District Court has concluded that the evidence pointing to the 63-year-old is not enough to be sure that he is guilty, writes GT.

The district court also notes that the defendant was testified to be drunk and had previously had reduced physical capacity. The court doubts that it can carry out the act described by the prosecutor.

The prosecutor demanded at least 16 years in prison for the 63-year-old.
