A large police operation is underway in Järntorget in central Gothenburg after a man is suspected of being stabbed. The man was taken to Sahlgrenska University Hospital with stab wounds and police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
Police were alerted to the scene at 5 p.m. Monday. Several witnesses claim that the alleged knife cut must have started with a verbal dispute.
– It is a place that many people visit in the afternoon because it is a hub. There are many who have seen these two people in some kind of verbal dispute, police spokesman Stefan Gustafsson tells TT.
A lone perpetrator has left the scene and is now wanted by several police patrols.
– Now we focus on trying to identify the two involved, says Gustafsson.
