After a lengthy debate on the budget and four votes, Swedish Democrat Heikki Klaavuniemi, chairman of the Munkedal City Council, named his own party’s budget proposal the winner. This is because the other parties in the municipality have not been able to obtain a majority for their proposals.

At the last meeting of the municipal board, a budget decision was made in which the proposals of the Center Party and the Social Democrats were named as the main proposal.
– It should be the main proposal also in the council, says Carina Thorstensson.
Heikki Klaavuniemi Säger to the radio that it is not surprising that his political opponents are appealing the budget decision and do not believe that they will gain anything from it.
– We have been in contact with the legal department and we are quite confident in our case, he tells P4 Väst.
Klaavuniemi objects to their action saying that the Sweden Democrats are the largest party in the Munkedal municipality. The party has nine seats on the municipal council, the Social Democrats eight, the moderates seven, and the center party four.
