Donald Trump spent the weekend at Walter Reed Military Hospital, where he was treated for covid-19.
SVT’s US correspondent Stefan Åsberg believes doctors want to give the impression that the president is recovering well.
– But if you listen to what medicines the president receives, it is something that is given to quite serious patients. We have also heard doctors say that he received oxygen until Saturday morning and that he has changes in his lungs, Åsberg says in Morgonstudion.
He continues:
– We will probably get a receipt for what Donald Trump’s condition is like if he is now actually discharged today or Tuesday.

During the night, the president took a car trip where he was seen, wearing a mouth guard, greeting supporters. The incident attracted a lot of attention and has been praised by Trump supporters, but criticized by medical experts who believe that a covid patient should rest in the first place.
Stefan Åsberg believes that Trump’s illness in covid-19 poses many problems for his campaign.
– Everyone works for the president to put himself in a form that can carry out electoral work, because he needs all this organization around him. Now several are sick and others are very worried about getting sick. It also remains to be seen whether the great presidential debate in two weeks’ time will be possible.
