It burns brightly in a villa in Söderhamn.
A fire has been burning in a villa in Söderhamn since 07.00. Both the rescue service and the police are on the scene with several units.
– It’s a fully developed fire. We have cordoned off the area and are assisting the rescue service in their work, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, Police Region Mitt press spokesman.
The latest update you have from the rescue service is that they are beginning to have better control of the fire but that there is still a small risk of spread.
At 09:30 we informed the police that they have canceled the suspicions of arson that existed in an initial stage.
– After speaking with the rescue leaders, we concluded that there is probably a natural cause behind the fire. We’ve changed the title to General Dangerous Destruction, says Magnus Janson Klarin.
The rescue service will allow the building to burn to the ground and, according to police, post-extinction work will continue for most of the day.
