The result of Malmö FF is, as expected, devastating. Serie wins after ten games and so many victories. Goal difference 139-0.
– One of our main goals this year has been not conceding a goal, says left-back Saga Fredriksson after 18-0 against Lilla Beddinge.
MFF acted like a magnet and of course it was a win on the show.
Saga Fredriksson has Allsvenskan ratings and is determined. Definitely, MFF would not offer a reverse objective.
– I have taken it very personally, it has been important for me and for the team, he says.
The moment we are witnessing is historic. For the first time, the MFF ladies are playing in the club’s match arena, the Eleda Stadium.
The MFF anthem as opening music, 50 quite enthusiastic spectators and a home team dressed in T-shirts with the text “Serieseger 2020”.
This is not an arrogant message. Just a statement.
Madeleine Hejde of MFF makes her entrance into the stadium.
Series victory in Division 4 and promotion to third position was already assured on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Gislöv.
MFF puts on a show in the last league game of the season.
In the fifth minute, Malin Gunnarsson made it 1-0. A minute later, Rebecka Holm hits second. Before the game clock reaches ten minutes, the score is 4-0.
Caroline Williamsdotter makes it 15-0 for MFF against Lilla Beddinge.
It’s double digits at minute 57. And so it ends with 18-0.
It’s not really strange. MFF has a team that is at a different level in terms of quality. A couple of players have fairly recent Allsvenskan ratings. The series victory was ready in advance.
Ann-Louise Thomsen from Little Beddinge is not too depressed.
– I love playing football. This is a memory for life, playing at this stadium. But I feel sorry for the girls of MFF, who can meet teams like this. They should have started a little higher in the league system, says Ann-Louise Thomsen, 46, who played senior football for 28 seasons.
Little Beddinge girls gather for a team photo. Memory must be immortalized.
We support the band and fast forward through the tours around the MFF team. The club’s decision to re-invest in a senior women’s team changed the landscape of football.
At an extraordinary annual meeting in November 2019, the association members rejected the proposed merger with LB07.
So it was clear that the MFF reset would take place in Division 4, the lowest tier in the Scanian series pyramid.
MFF decided to go the long way with its sights set on the Allsvenskan.
Coach Fredrik Jahnfors arrived from Dösjöbro IF, a club that a few months earlier in the qualifying rounds had missed promotion to the elite, the second highest series.
Malmö FF started from scratch and organized a trial training. Being able to play at MFF turned out to be something many had dreamed of. The big club acted as a magnet for high-quality players, especially the girls at Dösjöbro IF. Emotions were stirred when the small club from the Kävlinge municipality initially lost a full team to Malmö FF, as Sydsvenskan reported.
Fredrik Jahnfors is aware of the criticism, but chooses to remain hidden.
– I really like Dösjöbro as a club, so I don’t want to join it, he says.
When Fredrik Jahnfors is in the press room after ten winning matches, this season crowned for crown reasons, he explains in which different goals the team has agreed. To keep the embers alive.
– We have set ourselves the goal of managing 90 percent of our passes, not dropping any throw-in and having a maximum of one offside per half. Against Lilla Beddinge we go down to a throw-in and are offside twice in the first half, he says.
The victory was ready on Wednesday. Johanna Fredriksson was happy after the away win against Gislöv.
Fredrik Jahnfors does not hide behind a chair saying that the MFF team has been a self-playing piano.
– We also have a curly path through the club. We get everything we want, he says.
Fredrik Jahnfors says MFF will continue to drive with the same team in third.
– Every two days I get questions about player test training outside the club, but we shouldn’t have that, he says.
How much more difficult will Division 3 be?
– It is very easy, but our goal is to go directly through the third.
Without conceding a goal?
– Hmm, well, but one of the players on the bench said “we did it this year, now we will handle it next season as well,” says Fredrik Jahnfors.
Outfielder Malin Gunnarsson has played in the Allsvenskan and in the elite. She can compare.
“We have held up well in training matches against Division 1 rivals, so I think we keep that class,” he says.
Never feel sorry for your opponents when you beat them by double digits?
– It’s always fun to win, but you absolutely don’t want to feel like the opponents should be sad. It’s actually more fun to win 1-0 or 2-1 against tougher opponents, says Malin Gunnarsson and leaves with the victory party as the final destination of the night.
