The alarm about the detonation reached the police at 11 p.m. Friday night. On their website, the police write:
“Police receive most of the calls from central and northern Malmö about a loud blast.
Police are being dispatched to investigate and in the meantime new information is coming in that something has detonated at or in connection with a premises in Drottninggatan. “
– No injured person has been found, police spokesman Rickard Lundqvist told TT.
Bomb protection on the way to Malmö
A room and a building, on the other hand, have suffered material damage.
The police have cordoned off the site and technicians from the national protection barrier are on their way.
– Several windows are broken. We have not been able to investigate the facility further because it is considered dangerous until our bomb protection technicians have been able to secure the site, Rickard Lundqvist tells TT.
A nearby resident says he was sitting up and surfing when he heard the detonation.
– It was a fucking big bang that blew up. It wasn’t what you expected at home on a Friday night, of course you were surprised.
According to the witness, the police have blocked the streets next door and a police helicopter flies in the air.
