Polestar, owned by Geely and Volvo Cars, recently received reports that the Polestar 2 electric car has inexplicably lost power while driving. According to Polestar, the error is due to a software error in the battery power control module.

The electric car is now being withdrawn from the market. A total of 2,200 cars are being recalled, of which 600 are in Sweden, writes Dagens industri.

A total of three customers in Sweden have been affected. On Friday, information was sent to all customers that they were asked to rectify the fault as quickly as possible in a workshop.

– There have been no accidents or injuries due to propulsion failures. Brakes, steering and other systems work as they should, communications manager Brent Ellis tells Di.

Polestar 2 was released only a few months ago, and according to the company, there may be more software issues as well.

– We are investigating more things that customers have pointed out. We want to show clients that we act as quickly as possible, says Brent Ellis.

Amendment : An earlier version of this article stated that the car can start to burn while driving. That is wrong. The right thing to do should be that you can stop while driving.
