Rasmus Wiedesheim-Paul, 21, scored 19 goals in 29 games with Halmstads BK at Superettan last year and has also this year scored goals in the same series with 13 hits in 18 series appearances. Now he leaves the ball club to move to Norway.
The great Norwegian club Rosenborg announces that Wiedesheim-Paul will join the club for a contract throughout 2024.
– I’m very happy that it turned out well. Rosenborg are a great club and this is a good step for me, says the forward in a comment on the Rosenborg website.
– It has gone well for me and the team this season, and the goals have kept coming, he continues.
Wiedesheim-Paul also hopes to compete with former Östersund FK forward Dino Islamovic for a place in Rosenborg’s attack in the future.
– He’s always good with the competition. I will do my best in training every day, so the coach chooses who will play. I just have to show myself from my best side, he says.
Rosenborg Sporting Director Mikael Dorsin:
– Rasmus is a promising young striker who has a nose for goals. We have followed him for a long time and now was the right time to take him to Rosenborg. There have been several clubs chasing Rasmus, and we are very happy to have secured his signature.
Rosenborg is placed in second place in the Norwegian top league, the Elite Series.
At the same time, however, the defeat is also important for Halmstads BK, who are second in the Superettan and are seeking promotion to the Allsvenskan.
– Of course it is difficult to lose your top scorer in the battle for the Allsvenskan places. At the same time, our financial situation is of such a nature that the sale of a player was inevitable, says HBK coach Magnus Haglund in a comment on the association’s website.
