Sabuni (left) threatens to leave the January agreement if the latest investigation is not carried out

The last negotiations between LO, the Confederation of Swedish Companies and PTK, which organizes the wage earners, broke down last night. This means that the government’s investigation, which was released this summer, will instead form the basis for conditions in the labor market.

After the collapse of last night’s negotiations, the liberals are now threatening to abandon the January agreement if the government does not carry out the latest investigation, if the social partners do not reach an agreement.

“Then there is no cooperation either”

– If we do not agree with the Social Democrats on any technical adjustment, then they break the agreement and there is no cooperation, says Nyamko Sabuni.

No collaboration from January, or what do you mean?

– Our cooperation depends on the agreement. Part of the agreement is that if the parties do not agree, an investigation that has already submitted its report will be appointed and that report will become law.

Do you think this issue is so important that you are willing to break the January cooperation?

– We believe that all the issues in the January agreement are important. I have promised to respect the January agreement and, if it is not fulfilled, there is no agreement left and therefore there is no cooperation.

So you break it?

– In that case, the person who breaks the agreement is the government.

Eva Nordmark (S) did not want to give a direct answer

Labor Minister Eva Nordmark (S) was also questioned in Aktuellt, but did not want to give a direct answer on whether she is ready to proceed with the implementation of the proposals in their current form.

– Based on the investigation, we will accept the opinions of the advisory bodies, I will also ensure that what we agreed on in the January agreement, that the balance of power between the parties is maintained, says Nordmark.

However, the door is not yet completely closed so that the social partners have more time to reach their own agreement.

– It is positive if the parties resume their negotiations, there is nothing to stop it, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) told TT early Thursday.
