Termination for personal reasons
Mattias Dahl does not want to point to any particular issue that has upset the negotiations. He says that the Confederation of Swedish Companies, above all, had three issues that it wanted to solve, partly for factual reasons, that it should be easier to fire employees for personal reasons, that the rules that exist today would be expanded. Then also the rules of order and more exceptions at the beginning of last in, first out, have been on the table.
LAS investigation: “wet blanket”
Susanna Gideonsson points to the government’s Las investigation as the main reason the parties did not agree on labor law.
– There are several reasons why we did not succeed this time, but above all it was the so-called LAS investigation that laid the groundwork for the social partners. It made it difficult for us to agree on important issues. The research proposal lay like a wet blanket over the negotiations.
Gideonsson has now set his sights on stopping the Las investigation.
– Ultimately, it is the Center Party and the liberals who broke this negotiation by promoting the LAS investigation. Now we will make sure to stop the investigation proposal.
PTK: “constructive negotiations”
PTK President Martin Linder does not want to go into detail.
– We have had very good and constructive negotiations, but it was not possible to reach a consensus as a whole.
Labor law ends the government
The deadline for an agreement on labor law between the Confederation of Swedish Companies, LO and PTK was set for the midnight before Thursday. Now that the negotiations have cracked, the problem ends with the government. According to the January agreement between the government and cooperation parties C and L, these are the proposals for the government investigation into labor law which will now become law.
