The police first opened their eyes to the car the two men were traveling in at 2 p.m. in the afternoon:
– It was a traffic police patrol that stopped a car after some form of traffic violation at two o’clock. But the motorist does not stop, but tries to get away from the police patrol, says Christina Hallin, press spokeswoman for the Bergslagen police.
10 minute hunt
The police patrol must have called in reinforcements and a car chase in the western parts of Örebro took over. The chase should have lasted about ten minutes, during which the driver should have stopped temporarily so that a passenger could jump out of the car and escape on foot.
Finally, the police stop the car in the Holmen area with the help of a “minor collision with sheet metal damage to both the police car and the other car”, and the driver can be deprived of his liberty.
– I don’t know exactly how the car was stopped, but no one was injured during the stop, says Christina Hallin.
Convicted of murder and attempted murder
At 3:33 p.m., the police announced that the man who fled on foot had also been found in Väster, Örebro.
Shortly after, the police announced that the two detainees are two men in their 20s who have been wanted since mid-August. when they were released by gunmen from Råbyhemmet on the outskirts of Lund.
Both were sentenced to closed juvenile care, one for murder and the other for attempted murder of two brothers in Markbacken 2018.
Being taken to a residence
The man who was driving the car is now also suspected of illegal driving and drug use.
Police announce that the two men will now be transferred to a residence where they will continue to serve their sentences.
