French Open 2020 • The super team that makes Djokovic applaud

Unsurprisingly, Mikael Ymer had a tough match in the first round of the French Open against Novak Djokovic.

The world point guard won the first set 6-0 but the second was at least a little softer. First Mikael Ymer managed to win one of Djokovic’s serve games and then he offered the delicacy of the match.

Djokovic hit a long ball that Ymer had to turn around to reach it and his opponent had probably already taken the victory on the ball when Ymer cut with a tunneling blow.

The ball also became so hard and well targeted that Novak Djokovic could only stare with big eyes. Djokovic gave Ymer the go-ahead and also applauded the Swede for his blow.

Novak Djokovic pays tribute to Mikael Ymer

– He’s sitting down, wow !, Commentator Magnus Alsterback exclaims on the Eurosport broadcast of the match.

– It’s a wonderful ending. That will probably be the “play of the day” regardless.

Djokovic eventually won the second set 6-2 and in the third Ymer got even closer when Djokovic won 6-3.

Djokovic also pays tribute to Ymer after the match.

– He did a fantastic “tweener” (blow between the legs), says Djokovic on Eurosport.

The Serbian sees it as natural that Ymer was a bit stressed at the start of the match.

– He is young but one of the best of his age. We will see much more in the future, I’m sure.
